These photos are old scans of film shots, which is why the colors of the redbud trees look more red than purple here. But in former times they were every bit as lush as the images indicate. Not so today, unfortunately… I think many of the redbuds in my neighborhood are just too old, and might not be around for a whole lot longer according to this information:
