Wild hibiscus or marsh rosemallow

These plants–probably the true Halberdleaf rosemallow, since they are so profuse in number–grow in a hollow near my home. Since the ground isn’t my property, I have only noticed them in passing. However, one day recently I decided to get more “up close and personal.” I doubted I could get good photos but decided to try anyway. I was surprised at how well these turned out! Many of the blossoms are white but some are a light pink, and all of them have bright red centers.
